Central Queensland University for International Students: Fees and Terms

November 01, 2026

TL;DR: Central Queensland University (CQUniversity) teaches international students at campuses including Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Rockhampton. Indicative 2026 first-year fees are about A$38,400 to A$39,840 for popular courses such as nursing, accounting and IT. Terms start in March, July and November, and the International Merit Scholarship can cover up to 25% of course fees.

Central Queensland University runs three terms a year and has city campuses in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane as well as its regional home in Queensland. That gives you more start dates and more choice of city, but it also means you need to check which campus actually runs your course for international students. This guide shows how. To see whether your results fit before you apply, check your eligibility with Prosper.

What does Central Queensland University offer international students?

CQUniversity is a public Australian university whose main campus is Rockhampton North, about 15 minutes from Rockhampton city centre. Its international pages list campus cities in Adelaide, Brisbane, Bundaberg, Cairns, Gladstone, Mackay, Melbourne, Rockhampton, Sydney and Townsville.

The city campuses most international students consider are:

  • Melbourne, at 120 Spencer Street in the city centre, focused on business, engineering, IT and health.
  • Sydney, at 400 Kent Street, which includes medical labs.
  • Brisbane, which runs nursing and IT courses for international students.
  • Rockhampton North, the main campus in regional Queensland.

Not every course runs at every campus for student visa holders. The course handbook lists the campuses and terms open to international students for each course, so check it before you choose a city.

Central Queensland University fees for international students

CQUniversity publishes indicative first-year fees on each course page. These are the 2026 figures for three popular courses:

Course CRICOS code Indicative first-year fee (2026) Campuses for international students
Bachelor of Nursing (CL91) 102338C A$38,400 Brisbane, Rockhampton
Master of Professional Accounting (CC57) 084507M A$38,640 Melbourne, Sydney (Term 1, 2027)
Master of Information Technology (CC54) 083576F A$39,840 Brisbane, Melbourne, Rockhampton, Sydney (Terms 1 and 2, 2027)

The fee for the remaining study is due term by term, by each term's census date. Fees are reviewed each year, so confirm the figure on your offer. Note that the Master of Business Administration (CL20) is listed as online only for international students in 2026 and 2027, so it is not an on-campus option for student visa holders.

You will also pay for the student visa, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) and living costs. Our guide to Australia tuition fees for international students puts these figures in context.

Central Queensland University intakes and terms

CQUniversity runs three terms a year for coursework students. The 2027 terms start on:

  • Term 1: 8 March 2027
  • Term 2: 12 July 2027
  • Term 3: 8 November 2027

There is no single application deadline. The university advises applying at least three months before your term starts, which leaves time for the offer, the Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) and the visa.

Our guides to the Confirmation of Enrolment and the Genuine Student requirement explain the visa steps that follow.

Applying from Sri Lanka

CQUniversity handles applicants from Sri Lanka through its South Asia office. It does not publish a separate A/L or degree equivalence table online, so your results are assessed when you apply. Prepare certified copies of your A/L certificates or degree transcripts, and book IELTS or PTE early if you are aiming for nursing, which asks for higher English scores than most courses. Our Australia student visa document checklist lists what to prepare for the visa.

Team Prosper
Team Prosper|Editorial Team
Team Prosper is the editorial desk at Prosper Global Education, the Colombo-based study abroad consultancy co-founded in 2023 by Lasantha Jayawardena and Sandeepani Wickramasinghe. Articles carry this byline when they report a policy update, a university announcement, or an intake change, rather than draw on either founder's first-hand experience of guiding students. The desk links to the primary government or university source behind every factual claim, and says plainly when a rule is still changing or a detail has not yet been confirmed. Requirements move, and an article that pretends otherwise is worth less than one that tells you what is settled and what is not. For guidance on a specific application, Prosper's counsellors work directly with students and families from the Colombo office.
