University of Dundee entry requirements and English scores

Undergraduate applications go through UCAS. Postgraduate taught applications go directly to the university.

For English, the Business Management BSc and the Entrepreneurship MSc both ask for IELTS Academic 6.0 overall, with 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in the other components. Some postgraduate courses, such as the IT Management and International Business MSc, also accept TOEFL iBT 80 or PTE Academic UKVI 64. University of Dundee intakes and deadlines

Most undergraduate courses start in September. Many postgraduate taught courses also start in January.

  • January 2027, postgraduate taught: the Data Science and Engineering MSc lists an international deadline of 17 November 2026 at 11:59 PM UK time. Other courses set their own dates.
  • September 2027, undergraduate: the UCAS equal consideration deadline is 13 January 2027 at 6:00 PM UK time.
  • September 2027, postgraduate taught: the Data Science and Engineering MSc lists 6 August 2027, but visa timing means you should apply far earlier.

University of Dundee scholarships

Dundee's scholarships for international students include:

  • Global Excellence Scholarship (2027/28 entry): £3,000 a year for undergraduates, capped at £15,000 over the degree, with no separate application. For 2026/27 entry, including January 2027 postgraduate starts, the award is £8,000 for postgraduates who hold the equivalent of a UK First, with a scholarship deadline of 29 January 2027.
  • Vice-Chancellor's scholarships for South Asia: £6,500 for January 2027 undergraduate entry, and £2,000 for September 2027 undergraduate and postgraduate entry.

Medicine and dentistry are excluded from the Global Excellence award. Award values change each year, so confirm the terms on the scholarship page before you accept an offer.

Applying from Sri Lanka
