University of Hertfordshire for International Students: Entry Routes, Fees and Intakes

October 26, 2026

TL;DR: The University of Hertfordshire is a university in Hatfield, just north of London, where most courses start in September and some also take a January intake. International fees for 2026/27 entry are £17,450 a year for a standard undergraduate degree and £17,950 to £22,950 for a standard one-year master's. Most master's courses ask for IELTS 6.5, and the Chancellor's International Scholarship is assessed automatically, from £500 to £4,000.

The Hatfield campus is about 25 minutes by train from London King's Cross, and a pathway college sits on the same campus. So there is more than one way into a Hertfordshire degree. Check your eligibility with Prosper to see which route fits you.

What is the University of Hertfordshire like for international students?

The University of Hertfordshire is based in Hatfield on two sites, College Lane and de Havilland. Non-UCAS international applicants use the university's own online application form. Hertfordshire International College (HIC), on the College Lane campus, runs foundation and pre-master's programmes that lead into University of Hertfordshire degrees.

See our guides to the UK university deposit and UK tuition fees for international students, and check a university's sponsor licence before you pay.

University of Hertfordshire scholarships

The scholarships page lists these awards for new international students joining in September 2026:

  • Chancellor's International Scholarship: £500 to £4,000 for undergraduate and taught postgraduate students, assessed from your application with no separate form.
