University of Westminster: Fees, Intakes and Entry for International Students
TL;DR: The University of Westminster is a central London university that teaches across four campuses, takes international students in January and September, and lists many full-time Master's courses at £18,000 to £20,000 a year for the 2026/27 fee year. Postgraduate courses usually ask for a 2:2 degree and IELTS 6.5. The next international application deadline is 20 November for January 2027 starts.
At the University of Westminster, your subject decides which London campus you study at, what you pay and when you can start. Here are the facts from the university's own pages, so you can plan one clear application. Check your eligibility with Prosper
Is the University of Westminster a good choice for international students?
For many students it is a practical choice. Three campuses sit in central London, near Oxford Street and Regent's Park, and the fourth is in Harrow, about 30 minutes from central London by tube. Each subject has a home campus.
The university states that it does not increase international tuition fees once you enrol, which makes budgeting simpler. Students who do not yet meet direct entry can take a foundation route through Kaplan International College London.

You also pay a deposit before your CAS is issued. Our guides to UK tuition fees for international students and the UK university deposit explain both.
University of Westminster January intake
Many Master's courses start in January. For international applicants starting in January 2027, the university's published dates are:
- Apply by 20 November
- Meet your offer conditions and pay your deposit by 11 December
- Request your CAS by 18 December if you are applying from outside the UK
- Enrol by 11 January, with teaching from 18 January
For September 2027, international postgraduate applications close on 21 July, the deposit is due by 9 August and teaching starts on 27 September. Undergraduate applications go through UCAS, with a final deadline of 30 June in the year of entry.
January or September: a decision note. Choose January if your documents and English test are ready now; a January start is charged at the 2026/27 fee. Choose September if you still need an IELTS score or funds that meet the UK student visa 28-day rule. The university says it will not extend its final enrolment date, so a rushed January file is a real risk.
University of Westminster scholarships
The International Postgraduate Excellence Award for January 2027 gives £3,000 towards full-time Master's tuition, or £5,000 on the two-year Master's with an Integrated Professional Year Experience. The deadline is 30 November 2026. The September 2026 awards (£3,000 postgraduate and £2,500 undergraduate) have closed; check the Westminster scholarships page for the next round.

Westminster's Sri Lanka entry page sets out its own rules:
- A/L results: first-year entry typically from CCS, excluding English, with higher grades on some courses.
- Year 2 entry: an NCC International Diploma in Computer Studies at credit average, or a UK HND with Distinctions and Merits.
- Degree holders: a three-year general degree with a 70% average or Grade A, or a four-year special degree with a 60% average or Grade B+.
- English: most applicants need a test. Book through our IELTS in Sri Lanka guide, or read about PTE Academic UKVI.
After your CAS, you book the IOM Colombo TB test, give biometrics at VFS Colombo, and follow our UK student visa steps. Any credibility interview is held online by video with a UKVI officer. Read about the CAS before you pay your deposit.
